I saw an ad in the newspaper about a book signing in Red Lodge Montana about a week ago and decided to get my husband and head 60 miles to the southeast of Billings and check out these "vintage trailers".
I'm so impressed, and so excited to work on my own trailer now. These gals know how to find friends and have a good time, hopefully I can get my act together and saddle up my own outfit and hit the trail with these gals.
There is a website that shows over 400 pictures of sisters on the fly trailers, some have great paint jobs! Check out their website at www.sistersonthefly.com.
I'm really trying to figure out how I can jazz up my own 23 foot 5th wheel trailer. The kitchenette is going away and I'm gonna put 2 lightweight recliners in their place and bolt them to the floor. After a hard day hiking and huckleberry picking, those dinnette benches are just awful to sit in.
I need a name for my trailer, I'm thinking chicken coop, I'll have at least one "chick" and one "rooster" in this outfit. Apparently there are "couples" activities on occasions.

That looks like soo much fun! I may have to find me an ole junker and fix it up and get some tires for my van! Hey sister! What's your theme?
not sure yet, maybe the windmill gang!
That would be a good one! With mountains and wheat fields in the background!
Wanda,
I missed this event as I was out of town that weekend. I recently read about it in the Carbon County newspaper. I am glad that I also got to see it thanks to your blog post and to see additional interesting trailer photos at the website you mentioned.
By the way, I like the name "Chicken Coup" you came up with for a potential future trailer. :)
I have a fifth wheel trailer, and I've been thinking up all kinds of ways I can juice that thing up to have more character. Just got back from a road trip up to Red Lodge, what a beautiful day!
It sure was a beautiful day today (Sunday) in Red Lodge! :-)
