Should "Man Cave" become a special feature in MLS?

Why would a feller want to hibernate in a "Man Cave"?  Are "Man Cave's" gonna replace the beloved "Sewing Room"?

In MY House, there's room for both!!!Man Caves

Just got done stripping the paint masking tape from the trim in my husband's new Man Cave.  I'm not even sure how this came about, the Man Cave thing I mean.

Our kids are now mostly out of the house and I was gonna keep the guest room, a guest room, but suddenly my husband thinks he needs a man cave.

Could this be some type of competition, since I have a home office, and a sewing room?

Does he need to get away from me?  Is he trying to hide?  He has mentioned that he likes the kids to come and visit every now and then as he tries to get used to the idea of having me all to himself (lucky man!).

What's he gonna do in this man cave?  The only furniture he wants in there are 2 things he inherited from his Grandfather, some type of "rolling" desk, a I think he's hinting at a really big tv!

As I consider several episodes on HGTV, and several newspaper articles in magazines about a Man Cave phenomenon.  I wonder if we should include this feature in the MLS?  Would this attract a certain type of buyer?

I've gotten several buyers homes in which the deciding factor was the bonus room/man-cave.  There are networks adding shows specifically geared towards it, so it will be interesting to see if it "takes."

Also for a closing gift I created a sign, "My Cave My Rules" and when flipped over "Testosterone-free Zone" It was the least expensive closing gift I've ever gotten someone with the strongest reaction and most amount of referrals from it.  My buyer said all of his buddies ask him about that sign.  He says my Realtor® Andi gave me that!

Perhaps the "man cave" has become more popular because the sewing room is empty so often!

That's hillarious Andi, and what a great idea!

Funny about the sewing room being empty Jana, often sewing rooms are located in or near the laundry!

I have Buyers who would definitely want a "Man Cave" in their next home.  We are starting to see these more often as Men of the household are demanding spaces where they can truly relax and be themselves.

First it was the triple garage, then the shop, now the man cave?  Men, they're so demanding!

Wanda,

hmm, never heard of it...wait, yes I have. Here we call it the 'den'. I guess that's the same thing, right? Bear Cave/ Bear Den.....a place for men to go when they get growly. At least then we know to stay clear of them.

Hi Jo, I'm beginning to think that a man cave is also a good place for men to hide when mama bear gets growly as well (not that I ever get growly :)
