Who Are You Talking To?

Remember when you saw a person at a table by themselves talking loudly and energetically, you thought they must have run out of medication?

I wwoman talking on blue toothas just struck by the visual of a woman standing up in the coffee shop, alone, no phone in hand, talking to the window.  She has a blue tooth in her ear, hidden by her hair (I hope).

I remember when I thought this was a sad thing to witness since people who hallucinate have been known to have conversations with nonexistent company.

Just imagine if you went back in time, only 10 years, and saw this activity?

Same thing happens when I pull up beside someone in their car and they're chatting away, no phone, no other people in the car.  Just looks weird!  Much better to look over and see someone rockin' out to the tunes on their ipod or radio I think.

How cool is that?  Now you can put a dummy earbud in your ear and just talk nonsense.  Nobody will know the difference!

: )

Now do that on an elevator with one other person and follow them around as you're talking.

Did this happen to you?  Freaky isn't it?

Wanda....it really is weird, I never feel right using my blue tooth ...guess I will one day!

Hi Rob, I leave my blue tooth at home, in a drawer.  I changed to an earpiece with a cord!  Plus I'm trying not to drive and talk on cell, I'm doing better turning my phone to quiet so I'm not tempted to get distracted.

Someone in my family wore her bluetooth everywhere--even to Christmas and Thanksgiving dinner!  I'd be talking to her, and all of a sudden her part of our conversation didn't make any sense, often because she was speaking in a language I don't understand!  A simple "Excuse me a minute, please," would have made a lot of sense.

To me the use of cell phones and blue tooths has turned not only weird but can be outright rude!  When I have a client in the chair doing their hair it drives me crazy when they start yaking on the phone or constantly texting.  It distracts me from my task and also takes longer for me to complete my job.  Please shut your phones down while in an appointment!  If you are expecting an important call let the person you are engaged with at that time know in advance.  Let's start minding our manners again!!!  Whew Sis, thanks for letting me vent on this one!!!

Hi Dianne,  LOL I think we've all experienced something like that and boy it does just throw you off a bit!

Cindy, This is a good place to vent.  Maybe you should put up a "no cell phone zone" sign in your window!  I always quiet my phone when I'm with my hairdresser Becky.
