I have two scanners that scan one page at a time, but now I'm scanning a whole document. I know, maybe you all have been doing the whole document for some time, not me, one page at a time (accept) then the next page.
This whole upgrade cost me $145 after my $90 coupon from Costco. I sent out a little announcement on my Facebook page and low and behold, lots of people already do this. However, more people than you would think don't even own a scanner!
I'm trying to improve my home office equipment and make it so I don't use as much travel time for things that can be emailed. I really like having all of my correspondence and files in a folder where I can just pull them up at one time. Another techy person told me to use my One Note program. Apparently you can easily group things together. I guess I should work on that as well.
I am so impressed by all of the techy people I encounter on AR. I still want to get a blog signature that has a button link to subscribe or email me. I know the info is out there, getting it done, now that's the question.

Soon you will be a geek. Today, being a geek is a good thing because more tech is on the way. It's a techy world with geeks now in demand.
I really like being able to scan my documents but I keep backing up the hard drive and the hard drive is crashing. That is really scary after you have thrown the hard copy away!
Monika-I am the geek in my family, ha ha ha! I know more tech stuff is coming and I really appreciate the tips I find here on AR.
Rhonda-I just got a new portable hard drive, now I think I should store on disk as well. I can't throw anything away just yet, but maybe someday. I actually think the scanning and email have decreased all of the copies I've had to make for people. It's a good thing!
Good for you. This is great news. Glad you can group/scan multiple pages.
I've been a 95% paperless office for almost a decade now, so I've always had a document feeder for my scanners. Glad you've joined us in the modern age, Wanda! LOL
First Al Gore invented the printing press. Then the computer. Then the facsimile, then the Internet, then the cell phone and the Bluetooth.
Then he invented the document-fed scanner and the world was never the same again.
Wonder what he will think up next.
There are lots of nice scanners out there that even scan double sided documents, put it in the feeder and press scan. I do use Adobe Acrobat for scanned documents - it's an awesome program.
Hi Joan, I love your blog
Russ, You must be ok with going paperless, I'm still scared! Maybe in a year or so after I use this scanner
Jim, Al Gore is one of my hero's, I hope he invents the antidote to nuclear contamination!
Debbie, did you purchase the adobe acrobat or is it just the free one?
I wish that small business scanners could feed 100 or more pages at one time in the document feeder just like the photocopiers in large offices.
Wanda that is great! Please give us the name of the hardware/software you use so we can run out and buy it for ourselves!! ;)
THANKS for posting, your blog is now featured at http://activerain.com/groups/virtualoffice!
Hi Regina, thanks for the feature! I brought home 2 whole file boxes of old files from my bricks and mortar office to start scanning into files to save on disk and portable hard drive. I'm working to get rid of my bricks and mortar office because I really do most of my real office work from home. My best clients don't even know where my office is!
The scanner I got was a Canon MF4350d which is a lazer black and white. I already have a color lazerjet for newsletters and a couple of inkjet color printers so this is a nice addition. I like the sound when it fires up and starts to print, kindof like a jet engine!
I don't use any other software, the canon works fine to save in a pdf and select the size of the scan, still playing around with it.
Now i'm partway through learning the One Note program. Next thing you know I'll be editing my flip video!
