Just a note to pay some respect to a Montana Football Coach who, for the love of the game, coached a lot of Montana kids to work hard and play hard.
My husband (Raymond) Tracy Thomas was part of the Great Falls Bison 1973 championship football team coached by Gene Carlson and we plan to pay our respects at a graveside service this coming Saturday in Great Falls.
Gene was head coach of the Montana Grizzly Football Team 1976-79 and was a player for the Griz 1950 -52. More family members played for the Griz including grandsons of the Carlson's as well as my nephews Tyler and Torrey Thomas.
Gene was a Lt. Colonel in the Montana Army National Guard and retired after 24 years of service. Gene also served as the State Game Director for the Montana Special Olympics for a couple of years.
Helmets off to you Coach!
